Opening times

27.10.–28.02.: Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00 am to 03:45 pm (last entry 03:00 pm), closed Mondays
Closed: Christmas (24.12.–26.12.), New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (31.12.–01.01.)

The Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial will resume visitor operations as of December 18, 2021 with the following measures in place:

Mauthausen Memorial

The Mauthausen Memorial will reopen on 18.12.2021, buildings will be accessible to visitors (with the exception of the Visitor Center and the Staff Building).

  • 2-G proof must be provided
  • ​FFP2 masks mandatory in all buildings
  • the Bistro will reopen on 21.12.2021 (vacation from 24.12.2021 to 7.1.2022).

 

Guided tours

  • maximum of 25 participants
  • ​2-G proof must be provided
  • contact tracing in operation.

 

Gusen Memorial

  • The Visitor Center of the Gusen Concentration Camp Memorial will remain closed until further notice.   
  • The memorial area is open to visitors.

 

Visiting the Archive in Vienna

  • possible from 13 December 2021 with advance reservation
  • ​max. 1 person at any one time
  • FFP2 masks mandatory
  • 2-G proof must be provided
  • contact tracing in operation.

During the opening times, the bookshop next to the visitor centre will assist you. Due to the pandemic, the visitor centre itself will remain closed until further notice.

Our bookshop provides information on the memorial and its educational programmes, brochures, selected literature and audioguides.
 

Prices

There is no charge to visit the Mauthausen Memorial.

Notes

We do not advise visiting the Mauthausen Memorial with children under the age of 14.

Visiting the Mauthausen Memorial with dogs or other animals is not permitted.
